DSi Achieves Prestigious SOC 2 Accreditation

DSi, a national eDiscovery, legal technology and forensics company, recently received the Service Organization Control 2 (SOC 2) Type II accreditation.

SOC 2 is widely considered to be one of the most challenging examinations for a service provider to successfully complete.

The SOC 2 report was developed by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and is based on adherence to the Trust Service Principles, which measure security, availability, processing integrity, confidentiality and privacy. The examination was conducted by Gray CPA, PLLC, a certified public accounting firm specializing in SOC audits.

SOC 2 Type II accreditation requires that systems be evaluated for a minimum of six months, making this assessment more comprehensive than Type I.

“DSi is extremely pleased to have received SOC 2 accreditation, particularly as it relates to several vital components of our operational processes,” said Brian McGraw, Director of IT at DSi . “The accreditation process is thorough and expensive, but it’s vital for showing our clients that we will take every measure necessary to protect their data.

“Many technology companies will say that their facilities and the data they host are secure, but this certification demonstrates our continued commitment in this area, and the third-party validation of what we’re doing.”

DSi was audited and verified for the principles of security, availability, processing integrity and confidentiality.

Additionally, DSi conducted a colocation migration in early April to the Equinix Data Center, a highly secure facility in Ashburn, Va.

“This data migration adds an additional layer of confidence and security for our clients,” McGraw said. “The new colocation facility is also SOC 2 Type II accredited, meaning that all of DSi’s data is now housed in SOC 2 compliant facilities.”
